It’s About Time is a fundraising event created by IKEA that will donate 100 clocks to selected art students, artists, celebrities, and companies/corporations seeking to promote their brand through art. Once IKEA collects all the artwork, it will be auctioned at an invitation-only celebrity-studded event to be held at the Atlanta IKEA. Many artists and celebrities have already committed their artwork to this important cause including: Hank Aaron, Ted Turner, Big Boi, India Arie, Lily Tomlin, Maya Angelou, Indigo Girls, Wanda Sykes, Michi and Vern Yip.
G-CAPP’s Second Chance Homes Program is a statewide network of service providers and partners serving homeless teen mothers and their babies. Many of these young women are in foster care and need support to overcome the challenges they face with multiple placements and other tragedies experienced in their childhood. G-CAPP’s Second Chance Homes Program works to break the cycle of persistent poverty associated with teenage childbearing and consists of 11 homes throughout the state serving 110 teen mothers and their babies. Before Second Chance Homes was created in 2001, there were only 10 beds in Georgia serving young mothers under age 18 who were homeless.
Please join IKEA in our support of G-CAPP by completing the enclosed Host Committee Form and returning it by August 1, 2008. It’s About Time to end homelessness, It’s About Time to give!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Dorian Donna Rohling Ellen Hartman
