Jane Fonda has often called Ted Turner her “favorite ex-husband,” and this fall the amicable former spouses will share a stage for charity.
The Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, which Fonda founded, plans a cocktail reception followed by a seated dinner to be held Oct. 4 at the Georgia Aquarium. During the event Fonda will present Turner with the “Big Thinker Award” in honor of his philanthropic and entrepreneurial activities over the years.
In a statement Fonda said Turner was the “impetus and inspiration for starting G-CAPP. His global vision, activism and extraordinary generosity have been, since the very beginning in 1995, integral to G-CAPP’s progress in breaking the cycle of teenage pregnancy and its effect as a barrier to advancement in life.”
The event is being co-chaired by Caroline and Jeff Tucker and Kate and Jim Denny. The party host committee is being chaired by Carolyn Carr and Nina Cheney, and host committee members include G-CAPP Board members Ginny Brewer, Tom Larsen, Jeff Kershaw, Bill Stayton, Kris Spain and Ellen Hartman. Other host committee members include Duvall and Rex Fuqua, Roya and Bahman Irvani, Helen and Ray Weeks, Loraine Williams, Natalie and Kwanza Hall, Michael Gibson, Lorri and Forrest McClain, Laura and Rutherford Seydel, Robin and Hilton Howell, Ranjana and Pradeep Sinha, Le and Beauchamp Carr, Jack Sawyer and Dr. Bill Torres and Becca and Clyde Shepherd.
Patron reservations begin at $1,500 per couple. For information contact Laine Peeler at firstname.lastname@example.org
