Empowering Georgia Communities to Prevent Teen Pregnancy

The teen pregnancy rate in the state of Georgia is among the highest in the nation. G-CAPP recognizes that targeted and sustained community engagement at the local level is essential to addressing this critical issue.

G-CAPP has launched a multi-year initiative, Taking Time for Teens (www.gcappteens.org), to strengthen community involvement in adolescent pregnancy prevention efforts across Georgia.

The Goals of Taking Time for Teens are to:

• Increase public awareness and knowledge about the importance of teen pregnancy prevention,
• Provide technical assistance, expertise, and resources to local advocates working to promote effective teen pregnancy prevention policies,
• Develop a comprehensive toolkit for community engagement in teen pregnancy prevention throughout the state of Georgia.
