GCAPP, in partnership with National Network of Public Health Institutes, is leading the effort in delivering a customized training module on Adolescent Health and Advocacy for Health Educators for youth-serving professionals, community-based organizations, institutions of higher learning, K-12, and public health professionals interested in advocacy. Trainings are currently being piloted and will launch in Q1 2024.
Participants will be able to earn Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) toward CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) and MCHES (Master Certified Health Education Specialist) certification.
Trainings will expand participants’ advocacy skills and knowledge in three key areas:
Identify how to effectively utilize a participatory approach to work with young people on public health issues of importance to advocate for in their community.
Demonstrate how to foster authentic youth-adult partnerships within your organization or school to advocate for community change.
Demonstrate effective approaches to legislative meetings.

HPV Advocacy / State Policies and Sex Ed / Accessing Reproductive Care & Services / Laws Post Roe v. Wade / Advocacy Training for Patients / Navigating Reproductive Care & Services on Colleges Campuses in the Face of New Legislative Restrictions / and more!
